Recently I had an endoscopy done where a small tube with a camera goes down your throat to look at your upper stomach. The procedure is done under general anesthesia or you can have it without anesthesia if you don't have a gag reflex.
The procedure is less than 30 minutes and the only side effect to the procedure that I experienced was a sore throat and some bruising due to the IV. After the procedure it takes another 30 minutes of recovery time for the anesthesia to wear off. Best Gastroenterologist In Jaipur
Once I was fully awake, the doctor comes in to tell me I didn't have any ulcers but they spotted some granules and removed tissue to send to the lab to biopsy. He informed me the biopsy of the tissue would take about a week and the results will come in the mail.
A week later I received the results and found out I have gastritis. Gastritis is an inflammation of the lining of your stomach which explains my swollen belly. Inflammation of the stomach usually is caused by excessive alcohol drinking but there are other causes such as prolonged use of aspirin or ibuprofen, infections of the stomach, stomach surgery such as weight loss surgery like gastric bypass or bacteria.
Having the bacterium h. pylori which is short for helicobacter pylori is another cause of gastritis. H. pylori is a spiral shaped bacterium found in the stomach and penetrate the stomachs protective lining causing the lining to weaken and damages the stomach from gastric acid. The h. pylori bacteria is linked to ulcers and stomach cancer.
The most common symptom of gastritis is upper stomach pain along with nausea, swelling or fullness in the stomach like that of bloating, indigestion, belching, gas and vomiting which could produce blood. Gastritis left untreated can lead to a severe loss in blood. Gastroenterologist In Jaipur
The pain of gastritis for me feels like a gnawing burning feeling and sometimes drinking milk will ease the pain but it is not recommended because it doesn't solve the problem of gastritis it only worsens it by producing more acid. If you are lactose intolerant like me, omit the consumption of milk.
