They Don't Know Who We Are, But It Doesn't Matter

Do you know what an Unsung Hero is? They are the faceless ones. The nameless ones. They do what they do without pictures or videos to share on Facebook to prove that they've done it.
They alone are willing to tread in the deepest darkest corners that humanity has to offer. They fight for us with their blood and pain. They alone do what needs to be done even if that means becoming apart of the dark, and they do it all to serve the light. 
If they see one bad apple in a tree of good apples they are the only ones willing to burn that whole tree to the ground plant a seed and start over. They grit their teeth and do this in silence; they do it not to be seen or heard. They don't do this for your individual self but rather for the sum of the whole. 
They are willing to become monsters to fight monsters, and its because of this despite the sins they no doubt carry...to me...they are the most human of us all.
They tread on ground steeped in filth and decay. They hold in themselves true secrets--secrets so dark in their truth they have no choice but to hide them from the world. Lest there be chaos wrought in every corner of it. 
Lift up a silent prayer for those who have saved you. From what.. no one knows. But I think that its better for everyone that we don't.
