Pretense slacking in code and knowledge
smells like a cousin to the realms of my failures.
My remorse and bitterness swim and twist me.
They shake me up and it's hard to settle
But my shadow, wild-eyed and never changing
But in its wisdom
Through faded memories and broken connections
Stands with an artful index of what I need
And flipping through the files in my mind like warm feelings and cool breezes
I find the one.
Bitterness and remorse are a parallel path to return from
And contrast the beauty that trails alongside you,
Swishing with your unaffected truths.
And so may your shadow become your light
In the darker parts of the world,
Willing to untangle you from the aching of your troubles
And willing to open your eyes to the gifted ability to reshape flaws
Into the renewal and progress of your re-remembered soul.
