Revamped Retreat

Earthy aroma of algae,
Mist of twilight waves.
Toes part glossy rocks,
While I wait for,
A solo tandem rider.
Parasol resting upon shoulder,
Blocking out remaining beams.
Hair tossed by shoreline winds,
Eyes reflect the serenity that is,
A quiet town not so quaint.
Appearing with wrapped box,
The smile travels with speed.
Hands wave in my direction,
It's the one I'm longing to see.
"Hop on! Hurry!"
Sand does sputter,
Heart does flutter,
I mutter, "Adventure awaits."
Peddling faster,
Through luscious wood,
Picnic in a clearing,
Whispering of sweet words.
Greeting strolling passerby,
Singing hymns that echo,
Within the sanctity of church.
Pleasant to know,
This bay called, "Home".
And with it,
A love so great resides.
