Cursing bad drivers is a bad habit...as I've gotten older , my patience appears better as those idiotic erratic drivers will always be out there, regardless of where you are...

I’ve heard it takes 21 consecutive days to form a new habit. I think you have to reprogram your mind to stop a habit or start a new one. Tell yourself positive things everyday. For every negative thought, counter with 3 positive thoughts.

I started using the nail polish stuff anytime I catch myself. Slowly trying to wean myself off it all!

Better you clamp down on your nail biting habit than chomp down on it Carmelo. Lol. Seriously though realizing you are doing something is the best way to stop. Be conscious. Present moment awareness!

Finally, even if relapse happens, you need to have the resiliency and the drive to continue forward, and learn from your mistakes.

I agree with you, Moses Jackson... you need to really want to quit, and be willing to put the effort in. I think that the process starts with realizing you have a problem, and then being willing to take action.

I've read that it takes the average smoker 12 REAL attempts at quitting before they are able to permanently quit smoking! The book is called "Changing For Good"

Like anything in life I believe you really have to want to quit then make the effort.

I chew my nails sometimes. So I have been making a real effort lately to stop!
