Learning to Just Be

Sharp intake of breath as
Something seemingly insignificant rubs against the old scars,
the familiar shame
Will I give into the familiar sadness and let my fear
erase my name?
No. Not this time
not now not ever again.
Instead I dive deep
Deep down inside,
Remind myself
Who I REALLY am-
Created for joy -
for laughter-
for love
Created for freedom
because
I AM
ENOUGH
And I can breathe now
and I can sing now
and I can see ME now
because I am learning
to just be.
