Experience & Adventure

Do we become better people when we push through our personal fears or is it just completely unnecessary to scare ourselves nearly to death in the name of personal development?

I believe it is healthy to “push” through our fears to become The best we can and to fully actualize who we are. Most of us, I believe, can generally do this without scaring ourselves to death or putting self at great risk

Every day we strive to "be the best we can be". I do feel its important to try to face your fears however not until such time that the individual is ready. No sense in traumatizing yourself in the name of personal development. My view!

It depends on if the fear is stopping us or holding us back from moving forward to our full potential or fulfilling our life's purpose.

Depends on the fear. Phobias are different than normal fears, and its not a bad thing to be afraid or cautious of certain things. It when a fear debilitated you that it becomes a problem.

Pushing your boundaries and how you stand in the face of fear is a test of character for sure. Some people can thrive off the adrenaline rush and feel alive, while others may struggle through facing what they fear

Fear is a sort of safety net as long as it does not become debilitating and prevent you from pushing forward.

Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the one thing that is meant to be an objective warning in which you still have a choice. That is healthy fear. It is when it no longer allows for a choice that it becomes irrational and dangerous.

I guess it depends if there is PTSD that a person is dealing with. Sometimes a childhood experience that caused trauma is a HUGE obstacle to overcome. I person will overcome fears only when they are ready and willing.

very true.some people can invest their last dollar on a risky investment and some wont even if they have more money than they could spend. Some people would jump off a bridge on a dare and some wont jump even though they are not scared.

Different folks have different risk tolerances and comfort levels. So what's right for one may not be so for another.
