How to get there
It's a 30-minute drive , or about 1.5-hour train journey starting from the Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to the Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon. As my flight was arriving late in the evening I booked a taxi service with the hotel. The cost was 1000 Thai baht or around $28.
If you're arriving in the morning best mother daughter trip and you're in a hurry to travel by train, Bangkok's rail system is an extremely affordable method to travel into the city. For just 30 Baht (around eight cents) You can travel on an Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai Station and then connect with BTS Skytrain. BTS Skytrain, which -through an interchange via Siam Station -- has an on-street station of The Standard at Chong Nonsi.

Highlights
- The Standard is a luxurious hotel that offers a variety of options to stay in and experience the amenities. Rooms for guests start at less than $200 per night, while starting suites cost up to $600. Are you looking to get glam inside one of the penthouses in the hotel? One of them was available for less than $1,000 for a few nights, while the more spaciousdescribed by the hotel as "your own luxury Bangkok apartment" was priced at $1,500 per night.
- Bangkok is one of the most visited cities for its cuisine, but you can take a large portion of their time trying to find every one of The Standard's restaurants and bars that range in price from Thai and Mexican.
- The Standard is luxurious but not stuffy with a more youthful look than City's Four Seasons as well as Capella. Relax and unwind with a drink in the pool and revel in the multitude of Instagram fashion shoots happening.
- Alongside a well-stocked (and well-staffed) main gym, there's an ultra-modern fitness studio with classes all day long and an outdoor area that is perfect for outdoor training.
Everybody -- from the front desk family travel blogger staff during check-in to bartendersand housekeepers and restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. It was a pleasure to spend time with, offering suggestions on everything from jet lag solutions to what night markets to check out.

Drawbacks
- The hotel seems disconnected because its Sky Beach bar and Ojo Bangkok restaurant being located at the highest level of King Power Mahanakorn tower while the rest of the hotel is spread on lower floors. It is necessary for guests to exit the hotel visit the separate observation deck lobby adjacent to the hotel, and then climb an elevator for guests who are not hotel guests to reach these two places. Ojo lets guests skip the first line, however the sunset in Sky Beach means battling massive crowds.
- The Standard The Standard describes Sky Beach "the highest rooftop bar in Bangkok" and further describes it as a place where you can take in the view of at the city's skyline "tune out" to the live DJ, enjoy an alcoholic drink with a cocktail, and "remember that the sky's the limit." What they do not tell you is how closely it is to the King Power's observatory deck and how the crowd makes it difficult to concentrate on everything.
- The standard of Bangkok's Central Business District locale isn't the most attractive. If I did venture out for a meal or to tourist spots typically, it was within a minimum of 15 minutes. There is an train station just right across the street that is located next to the hotel, for quick connections using public transport across Bangkok.
