Self-harm is common in young people with depression and anxiety but it also affects people of all ages. So what is self-harm? Self-harm also known as self injury is deliberately hurting your own body, such as cutting or burning, in a way to cope with emotional pain, intense anger or frustrations. While it is true that anyone can be affected by self-harm, some people are more likely to self-harm than others because of things that have happened in their lives such as their childhood, family, or friends. In this video, we want to cover some of the stories or insights that people who self-harm want you to know.
